Road Trip - Kochi to Kanyakumari

Veda's 7-Day travelogue from Kochi, Kerala to Kanyakumari, Cape Comorin.

Kochi to Munnar - 110 km

After a five-hour flight delay, my family and I landed in Kochi and it was already time to bid goodbye to the bustling city and move to the hills of Munnar. Rains in Kerala mean bad roads! Playing hide and seek with the rains and fog in the hills was making me feel exhilarated. After a 3 hour drive, we arrived at Club Mahindra Munnar. The resort offers a unique view of the vast tea estate and the mythical mountain peaks.

Weekend in Hampi: Up close with heritage, nature, and wilderness

Veda recounts her weekend trip to Hampi in India.

I had come across people traveling to Hampi, and coming back with ‘ooh’ and ‘aah’ about the place, and showing off the beautiful pictures they had taken, and this tempted me to make a trip of my own. After planning for a while and finding some time to spare, my friends and I packed our bags and cameras and boarded a train from Hyderabad to Hampi.

Indigenous Travel: Meeting the Maasai

Mr. Mallik’s encounter with the nomadic Maasai warriors.

A year ago I was lucky enough to go on the Great Migration Trip to Kenya and visit the Masai Mara Game Reserve. While the Great Migration is a truly amazing spectacle and one to add to your bucket list, I will never forget my encounter with the Maasai people during this journey. The indigenous Maasai people are a nomadic pastoral tribe who move their villages to accommodate the grazing patterns of their animals.
