Your Bhutan holiday begins at Paro where you are met by our representative who will drive you to Thimpu.
Check in to Namseling Boutique Resort and then head for a panoramic sightseeing tour of the capital of Bhutan. Visit Memorial Chorten (stupa or structure containting Buddhist relics) built in 1974 to honour Jigme Dorji Wangchuck, the Third King of Bhutan. See Kuensel Phodrang, the world's largest sitting Buddha statue as well. This is followed by a visit to Takin Reserve & Mini Zoo, and finally a trip to BBS Tower will give you a vantage point for photographing the beautiful Thimpu Valley.

Enjoy a full-day sightseeing tour of Thimpu today. Visit the Folk Heritage Museum, Royal Textile Academy & Museum, Anim Dratshang (a nunnery), Trashichhodzong (a Fortress) and a handicrafts emporium. As you'll be travelling here over the weekend, you can also make a trip to the weekend market to hunt for interesting local curious and bargain for handicrafts.
You head for Paro today. Paro valley extends from the confluence of the Paro Chhu and the Wang Chhu rivers at Chuzom upto Mt. Jomolhari at the Tibetan border. This picturesque region is one of the widest valleys in the kingdom and is covered in fertile rice fields and has a beautiful, crystalline river meandering down its length.
Check in at Udumwara Resort and then go on a sightseeing tour of Paro. See Drukgyel Dzong—the ruins of an old Fortress, Kyichu Lakhang—a famous monastery and Ta Dzong—the national museum of Bhutan.
Situated amidst natural beauty, Udumwara Resort features rooms decorated in traditional Bhutanese style and offering modern amenities. Head out on a day excursion to Chele La pass (12,200ft) - the highest motorable point in Bhutan. On a clear day you can get a breathtaking view of Mt.Jhomolhari (23,996 ft, the second highest peak of Bhutan) and other Himalayan giants.
Visit the Paro handicraft market later in the evening.
Optional tour: You can consider a trek to Taktsang Monastery, also known as Tiger's Nest Monastery—a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This trek invlovles ascending through picturesque Paro Valley over a period of 2-3 hours to reach the top. Ponies can also be hired for those requiring assistance with the hike.
This is the last day of your Bhutan cultural tour as you travel to Paro Airport for your flight to Kolkota.
