Itinerary

Day 1 New Delhi

The tiger safari holiday to the jungles of North India begins in New Delhi. On arrival in New Delhi Airport, you will be met by our representative, who will help you get to your hotel. Spend the day relaxing in the hotel or go out and explore the city of Delhi.

Delhi, the capital city of India, is one of the largest and fastest growing metropolises in the world. It is a bustling city, ever growing and molding itself with the times. The city has a colorful history which is embodied in its monuments, forts and historical places. A visitor can choose to sample the culture of the city in its vibrant markets or taste the Indian cuisine in its numerous eateries. Delhi has something to offer everyone!

We advise you to get adequate rest today, as we have action packed days ahead!

Day 2 New Delhi to Pench National Park

An early morning flight to Nagpur and a drive of about 2 hours from there will take us to Pench National Park where your Indian wildlife tour will properly begin. We are scheduled to reach by early afternoon. After check-in, relax in your suite or go for a stroll in the camp area.

After lunch, we set out on our first game drive into Pench National Park. The drive will acquaint you with the environment of the park, which is mainly dry deciduous forest of teak trees.

The beautiful Pench Tiger Reserve is nestled in the southern part of the Satpura Hills and is named after the Pench River that flows through it. In addition to Tigers, the area is famous for large herds of Gaur (Indian Bison), Chital, Sambar, Nilgai, Wild Dog and Wild Pig.

Day 3 Pench National Park

We start the day with an early morning safari in Pench and a picnic breakfast. The long drive through the deciduous forest and gurgling streams gives you a chance to encounter nature at close quarters. We return to the lodge for lunch, after which you can relax for a while. Go on an afternoon safari, the bright light, bird and animal sightings come together to form perfect photo opportunity!

We head back to the lodge at dusk where a delicious dinner will be waiting for you after we get back from the park.

If the elephants are able to track a tiger, you may have the opportunity to ride an Elephant to have a closer look at it. (Optional Activity- Cost is not included & is Subject to availability)

Day 4 Pench National Park to Kanha National Park

Today, after an early breakfast, we bid goodbye to Pench and travel to Kanha National Park. This is a drive of approximately 5 hours and we try to reach around noon in time for lunch. We will then set out on an afternoon game drive in Kanha National Park, and return to the lodge at dusk. Our day ends with a bonfire night, a delicious meal and a display of local culture in the form of the foot tapping Baiga tribal dance. We advise you to end your day soon after dinner because the next 2 days have an early start.

Kanha National Park is a beautiful reserve that is rich in wildlife. It encompasses lush meadows, thick forests and water bodies. As you enter, the subtle fragrance of the Sal forest and the incessant sound of cicada will captivate you. In addition to the Tiger, Kanha is home to the rare hard ground Barasingha or Swamp Deer. You might also see spotted Deer, Sambar Deer, Langurs, Leopards and Dholes (Wild Dogs).

Day 5, 6 Kanha National Park

Our exploration of Kanha National Park will continue over the next two days. We begin these two days with early morning safaris in Kanha and picnic breakfasts. After lunch at the lodge, we will head into the wilderness once more until dusk.

If there is time, we will drive to Bahmni Dadar – the highest point in Kanha. It offers a panoramic view of the entire national park.

During your stay, if the elephants are able to track a tiger, you may have the opportunity to ride an Elephant to have a closer look at them. (Optional Activity- Cost is not included & is Subject to availability)

Day 7 Kanha National Park to Bandhavgarh National Park

Today, after an early breakfast, we head for Bandhavgarh National Park (approx 6 hours drive). We will be spending the next two nights here. Lunch will be served after checking in at the lodge. This will be followed by an afternoon safari in Bandhavgarh National Park, from which we return at dusk.

Bandhavgarh is best known for having the highest density of tigers in India. However, the beauty of its forests also lies in the rich wildlife that lives within it – Leopard, Sambar Deer, Barking Deer and many more. The park also has a rich variety of birdlife. You are likely to spot beautiful species of Egrets, Hornbills, Kingfishers and Eagles that are endemic to the region.

Day 8 Bandhavgarh National Park

Your tryst with Bandhavgarh continues today. We begin with an early morning Bandhavgarh game drive and return to the lodge for breakfast. You can relax until after lunch when we head into the wilderness once more till dusk.

Day 9 Bandhavgarh National Park to Panna National Park

Today, after an early breakfast, we depart from Bandhavgarh and travel to Panna National Park. This is a drive of approximately 4 hours. We will reach sometime around noon, in time for lunch. This is followed by a game drive in Panna. We will return to the lodge at dusk, where you can enjoy a delicious dinner.

Panna National Park is home to the best of India’s wildlife- Deer, Antelope and of course, the majestic Tiger.

Day 10 Panna National Park

Our exploration of Panna continues today. We begin with an early morning safari in Panna and return to the lodge for breakfast. You can relax until after lunch when we will head into Panna’s wilderness once more until dusk.

If the Elephants are able to track a tiger, you will have the opportunity to ride an Elephant to have a closer look at them (Optional Activity- Cost is not included & is Subject to availability).

Day 11 Panna National Park to Khajuraho

Today we will travel to Khajuraho. This is where several extremely famous and unique temples are located. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Khajuraho's temples are known for their erotic sculptures. Despite their sensual nature, these temple engravings are of great symbolic importance.

Day 12 Khajuraho to Agra

After breakfast, we will be driving for about 4 hours to Jhansi to board a train for Agra (Additional: Train Fare is not included). You will be met on arrival by our representative, who will help you get to your hotel.

Day 13 Agra to Keoladeo

We will visit the magnificent Taj Mahal at dawn. Its architectural splendour is a vivid reminder of the legendary Mughal Empire. Later in the day, we will visit some of the other famous buildings on an Agra city tour. After lunch, we drive for 45 minutes to Fatehpur Sikri, a World Heritage Site (1-hour stopover). This city was once the capital of Mughal emperor Akbar’s massive empire.

We will then drive for a further 45 minutes to our next wildlife destination- Keoladeo National Park (formerly Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary). After checking in at the lodge, you are free to spend the remainder of the evening relaxing.

Day 14 Keoladeo National Park

Today, we will leave early in the morning to explore Keoladeo National Park. This park, as you will soon discover, is a birdwatcher’s paradise and is famous for its resident as well as migratory birds. Bharatpur, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, can be explored using a quaint rickshaw, on foot and by boat. We return to the lodge for breakfast. You are free until after lunch when we will set out once again for bird watching in Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary, now known as Keoladeo National Park.

Day 15 Keoladeo National Park to Delhi

This is the last day of our North India wildlife and history holiday. After breakfast, you will be driven to Delhi airport to catch your flight back home.
