Your Amazon adventure tour starts from Manaus. You will meet our guide at 7:00 AM at Hotel Tropical. This morning we will board the vessel, the Motor Yacht Tucano and depart upstream on the Rio Negro. Through the morning we will cruise through the world’s largest river island system, the Anavilhanas Archipelago. From the observation deck we can scan the magnificent tangle of vegetation.
By mid-afternoon, the vessel goes beyond the frontier of settlement and enters the area of wilderness. The shores are covered by dense rainforest. The list of animals that can be spotted is unpredictable, but we have a good chance of observing Pink River Dolphins and a large collection of exotic birds. We will see magnificent forest vistas and the spectacular trees. In the late afternoon we get onto launches and hunt for wildlife. We can also opt for a swim in water that is considered, the world’s cleanest and most refreshing.
Early this morning, we will explore the rainforest in our launches. We may perhaps hear and see Howler Monkeys along with a morning serenade of Toucans. After breakfast we will go for a walk in the forest where we will get a good start on our understanding the flora and fauna of the tall rainforest region.
Around midday we return for lunch and the voyage starts again, perhaps stopping at a place to swim. In the late afternoon we will again explore the forest in our launches and may chance upon the sunset chorus of birds and frogs.

Today morning we will set forth on an early exploration of the waking forest. We will keep our eyes open for monkeys, who are oft spotted. We return for breakfast followed by either a walk in the forest or an excursion in the launches.
Motor Yacht Tucano will travel through the day and we stop in the afternoon for an excursion. Tonight the vessel may sail a bit more as we marvel at the night sky crowded with stars.
On day four, the Tucano will navigate along the heavily forested shore, scouting for wildlife. We may stop at a settler’s home; the houses are unique and are carved out in the forest.
In the early afternoon we close in on an extraordinary river called the Rio Jauaperi. We will scout along the shoreline for some of the extraordinary creatures, found only in this unique habitat. Weather permitting, we will embark on a night excursion to observe the nocturnal creatures.
Today we depart the Rio Jauaperi and head downstream on the Rio Negro exploring a new collection of rainforest habitats. In the daytime we will continue to scout for wildlife in our launches and walk in the forest.
At night we will continue looking out for nocturnal wildlife.
After a walk in the forest we cross to the west bank of the Rio Negro, exploring the region, as we go. We will stop at the, Novo Airão, the famous boat building village. As we walk through the streets of the village, we are bound to marvel at how the 19th Century way of living thrives in this remote corner of the globe.
Tonight the Tucano sails downstream and by morning, we arrive near the confluence with the Amazon River. As the yacht glides through the starry darkness, you can sip on “Caipirinha”, national drink of Brazil, and perhaps try a Samba on the top deck.
Today, we will explore Lago Janauari Ecological Park. Here, the thick brown water of the Amazon flows swiftly through the forest. This region is considered to be a good wildlife observation spot. Around midday the vessel will travel to the “Encontra das Aguas”, a several mile long line where two of the world’s largest rivers, the Amazon and the Negro, join in a turbulent maelstrom. Here the dark water of the Negro runs beside the opaque brown water of the Amazon. In the afternoon we scout one of the lesser known streams in the area to try to see some more of the Amazon’s beautiful wild creatures.
Tonight, we will go on a final nocturnal excursion looking for nocturnal life.
Your Brazilian Wildlife holiday through the rainforest ends today. After breakfast, we disembark from the Motor Yacht Tucano.
We end our tour at Hotel Tropical at 08:00 AM. It is also possible to prearrange the disembarking to the evening prior to the last day of the tour, if you have an early morning flight to catch.
