Your Central India wildlife tour starts on arrival at the Delhi airport where you will be met by our representative and transferred to your hotel. We advise you to get some good rest today. The next few days will be packed as you plunge into the wilderness of central India on this tiger safari holiday!
Today, we take an early morning flight to Nagpur. From Nagpur, we drive for about 2 hours to reach Pench National Park by early afternoon. After lunch, we set out on our first game drive into Pench National Park to begin our tiger tour.
The beautiful Pench Tiger Reserve is nestled in the southern part of the Satpura Hills and is named after the Pench River that flows through it. In addition to Tigers, the area is famous for large herds of Gaur (Indian Bison), Chital, Sambar, Nilgai, Wild Dog, and Wild Pig.
Dawn is the perfect time to sight animals in the wild and we start the next two days early in the morning. We set out for a safari in Pench and spend a few hours trying to sight animals. We will return to the camp for lunch, and relax for a while.
The late afternoons are perfect to sight tigers which laze around the waterholes under the shade of trees, to shield themselves from the afternoon heat. We set out on a game drive in Pench and come back only well after nightfall when the park closes for the day.
A delicious dinner will be waiting for you at the camp after a long and exciting day, hopefully after sighting the wildlife of the national park.
Today, after an early breakfast, we bid goodbye to Pench and travel to Kanha National Park. This is a drive of approximately five hours, we will try to reach around noon in time for lunch.
We will then set out on an afternoon game drive in Kanha to familiarize ourselves with the environment of Kanha National Park and return to the lodge at dusk. Our day ends with bonfire night, a delicious meal and a display of local culture in the form of the foot-tapping Baiga tribal dance.
Kanha National Park is a beautiful reserve that is rich in wildlife. It encompasses lush meadows, thick forests and water bodies. As you enter, the subtle fragrance of the Sal forest and the incessant sound of cicada will captivate you. Kanha is home to the rare hard-ground Barasingha or Swamp Deer. You might also see Spotted Deer, Sambar Deer, Langurs, Leopards and Dholes (Wild Dogs).
The next three days in Kanha National Park will prove to be an excellent opportunity to indulge the wildlife enthusiast in you! We have lots of activities to provide you with a unique jungle experience.
We begin the day with early morning safaris into Kanha. The best time of the day to sight animals is early morning, especially around sunrise, and you will very likely sight a herd of deer grazing in the morning sunshine! We return to the camp for lunch and relax for a while and maybe you can go on a short walk. We will head into the wilderness once more for a game drive in Kanha to spot tigers and return to the camp only after dusk.
Today after an early breakfast, we depart from Kanha and travel to Bandhavgarh National Park. This is a drive of approximately six hours and we will reach sometime in the afternoon. After settling in at the lodge, we move out on a Bandhavgarh safari. This is our first drive into the park and we will get acquainted with the environment of the national park.
We will return to the lodge at dusk, where dinner awaits you. We suggest you get some good sleep as we start the next day early in the morning.
Bandhavgarh is best known for having the highest density of tigers in India. However, the beauty of its forests also lies in the rich wildlife that lives within it – Leopard, Sambar Deer, Barking Deer and many more.
The park also has a rich variety of birdlife. You are likely to spot beautiful species of Egrets, Hornbills, Kingfishers, and Eagles that are endemic to the region.
Your tryst with Bandhavgarh continues for the next three days. The national park is home to a variety of wildlife and we have plenty of opportunities in the next few days to sight most of it. We also hope to sight a tiger on one these days.
We begin our day with an early morning safari in Bandhavgarh and after driving around for a couple of hours return to the lodge for breakfast. You can relax until after lunch, maybe go on a short walk and enjoy the wilderness surrounding the lodge. We will head into the jungle once more on a game drive in Bandhavgarh until dusk, as there is a very good chance of sighting animals, especially tigers, in the late afternoons. Most animals come out of the shade for a cool drink of water at waterholes after a long hot afternoon.
Today, after an early breakfast, we depart from Bandhavgarh and travel to Panna National Park. This is a drive of approximately four hours. We will reach sometime around noon, in time for lunch. We will set out for a game drive in Panna and get an idea of the flora of the park, which is mainly teak and dry deciduous forest. We will return to the lodge at dusk, where you can enjoy a delicious Indian dinner.
Panna National Park is home to the best of India’s wildlife- Deer, Antelope, Leopard, Wolf and of course, the majestic Tiger. It is situated in the state of Madhya Pradesh and is very close to Khajuraho.
Our exploration of Panna continues over the next couple of days. There is a lot to be seen and experienced in Panna national park right from interesting wildlife to the beautiful forest.
We begin the day with an early morning Panna safari at dawn and drive around for a few hours in search of the tiger before returning to the lodge for breakfast.
You can relax until after lunch, stroll around the lodge to the river. Later we return to Panna once more until dusk falls and it is time for the park to close.
Today we start out early from our lodge in Panna, to visit the famed temples of Khajuraho (approx 1-hour drive). This UNESCO World Heritage Site is a temple complex that is known for its erotic sculptures. Despite their sensual nature, these temple engravings are of great symbolic importance.
After lunch, we will head for Khajuraho Airport to catch a flight to Delhi. You will be met by our representative upon arrival at Delhi airport, who will help you get to your hotel.
You can spend the final day exploring Delhi before heading for the airport to take your flight back home and end this India tiger safari holiday.
Delhi, the capital city of India is one of the largest cities in the world. The political capital of the country, it has a vibrant history dating back to the Mughals. It has exquisite architecture belonging to different periods right from Qutub Minar, Parliament building, India Gate, Lotus temple and many more.
