Arrive at Johannesburg airport, you’ll be met by our local representative and transferred to the Emperors Palace Casino and Resort Complex. The rest of the day is at leisure to explore the city on your own or relax at the hotel. The Emperors Palace is a luxurious complex that has a relaxing health and beauty spa, a grand casino, several dining options, entertainment choices, and a retail concourse.
After breakfast, transfer to Johannesburg for your flight to Hoedspruit Airport (cost not included in tour price). Upon arrival, you will be met by our local representative and transferred to your safari lodge. After lunch at the lodge, go on an afternoon safari in the Kapama Private Game Reserve, you can spot various species of animals. Return to the lodge in the evening where dinner will be served. Kapama Private Game Reserve occupies a vast area between the northern Drakensberg Mountains and the Greater Kruger National Park. It is the largest single-owner game reserve in the region. Kapama’s 13000 hectares has all the big game of Africa with 42 mammal species and approximately 350 bird species. This equates to huge natural diversity and includes the ‘Big Five’ – lion, leopard, African elephant, Cape buffalo, and rhino. Giraffes, impalas, blue wildebeests, kudus, hyenas, and cheetahs can also be spotted. Bird watchers will be excited to spot the rare gymnogeg and knob-billed duck.
Wake up early for some tea/coffee and snacks after which your ranger will escort you to the open safari vehicle for your morning game drive.
Return to the lodge for breakfast and lunch. Then, go on an afternoon game drive, spot the Big Five (lion, rhinoceros, Cape buffalo, African elephant, and leopard) on safari. Black rhinoceroses, white rhinoceroses, zebras, giraffes, blue wildebeests, impalas, wild dogs, and spotted hyenas are some other mammals that can be seen here. Return to the lodge in the evening.

The rest of the day is at leisure to explore the city on your own or relax at your hotel.

Enjoy a cocktail in the newly refurbished Senate Bar or a sundowner on the terrace, overlooking the magnificent rim-flow pool to the ocean. After breakfast, you will be picked up at your hotel for a private half day Cape Town city tour. Start by a trip to the Table Mountain for unforgettable sweeping views (weather permitting). Return to the city through the Malay Quarter, past the Castle, and around Table Bay to Milnerton lighthouse. Then visit the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront. Indoor shopping, entertainment venues, ocean vistas and mountain views form a vibrant atmosphere here. After spending some time here, return to your hotel and spend the rest of the day at leisure.
After breakfast at the hotel, go on a full day private tour of the Cape Peninsula. Since it is a private tour, you can explore the beauty of the Peninsula at your own pace. Drive along one of South Africa’s most scenic routes, passing Hout Bay to the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve. Enjoy a cruise to Seal Island, to view seals and sea birds at Duiker Island (weather permitting). During summer, several thousand Cape fur seals, along with the rare black cormorant, lollop leisurely among the kelp beds.
Continue to the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve. The scenery en route to Cape Point, at the South Western tip of the Reserve, is particularly beautiful in spring when wildflowers carpet the landscape. Ascend to the top by Funicular (cliff railway). Encompassing 7,750 hectares of rich and varied flora and fauna; abundant with buck, baboons and Cape Mountain zebras as well as over 250 species of birds, Cape Point is a nature enthusiast’s paradise.
Then visit an endangered African penguin colony at Boulders Beach. Wooden walkways allow visitors to view the penguins in their natural habitat here. Then drive through the historic naval base town of Simon’s Town.
Return to your hotel and spend the rest of the day at leisure.
After breakfast at the hotel set off on a private Garden Route Tour. Leave Cape Town and drive down the Garden Route to Oudtshoorn (5-6 hours by road). Oudtshoorn is the ostrich capital of the world. The small town, built around a wide green belt, is the commercial centre of the Klein Karoo – a rolling plain that is surrounded by towering mountains. All roads into the district, follow stunningly beautiful mountain passes and present the traveller with an interesting, scenic drive. Check in to La Plume Guesthouse, set in the tranquil Olifantsrivier Valley it commands spectacular views of the Swartberg Mountains. With private entrances, sunny verandahs and elegant antiques, the air-conditioned bedrooms offer TVs, mini bars, and abundant comforts. If time permits, choose from one of the many optional activities available here (cost not included in tour price) including bird watching, horse riding, golfing, and mountain climbing.
After having breakfast at the hotel and checking out, go on a guided tour of Cango Caves. The caves are a series of dripstone caverns that open into many large halls of towering stalagmite formations, some of which are the biggest stalagmite formations in the world set in Precambrian (a time about 4500 million years ago) limestone.
Then visit Cango Wildlife Ranch. See giant flying foxes, abundant bird-life, crocodiles, white lions, African leopards, white and snow tigers, cheetahs, King cobras, and many more species. Move on to Safari Ostrich Farm.
Then drive to Knysna on the coast. Explore the quaint town known for its art & craft shops. The town is built on the banks of the Knysna Lagoon, a National Lake Area that falls under the protection of South African National Parks. The Lagoon is home to more than 200 species of fish – including the rare Knysna seahorse – and is a popular destination for water sports enthusiasts and nature lovers. Embark on a ferry to explore the Knysna Lagoon to see the famous Knysna Heads. (weather permitting).
Check into Protea Hotel Knysna Quays, set on the Knysna Quays Waterfront with the lagoon at your doorstep. The Hotel offers a breakfast restaurant, a heated outdoor swimming pool, free internet service, a wellness center, and four different restaurants.
After breakfast, the full day will be at leisure to participate in various optional activities (cost not included in tour price). A vehicle with driver/guide will be at your disposal. You can choose from the following optional tours:
1. Tsitsikamma Treetop Canopy Tour - The Tsitsikamma Canopy Tour® takes place in the magnificent Tsitsikamma indigenous rainforest. Many of the platforms are built around giant Outeniqua Yellowwood trees that are 700 years old.
Start with a safety briefing where your guides will first demonstrate- how to slide on the cables and the safety procedures to be followed on the tour, before kitting you up with full body harness, pulley, climbing equipment and safety helmet. Your group will then be transferred in an open vehicle to start the canopy tour. A lead guide and safety guide escorts all groups at all times. Your safety is paramount and strict procedures are in place to ensure that you are constantly connected to either the cable or the platform. Each tour lasts typically 2½ hours and upon returning to the office, you will enjoy a well-deserved meal and refreshments.
2. Bloukrans Bridge Bungy Jump - The Bloukrans Bungy is the highest commercial natural bungy jump in the world. This will definitely be an experience of a life time.
3. Quad Bike Adventures - Hire the Yamaha, Grizzly 125cc Full Automatic quad bike and riding gear including helmets and goggles, and go on one of the following tours:

4. Whale and Dolphin Watching - Situated in the coastal town of Plettenberg Bay, Ocean Blue offers a rare and powerful experience through permitted boat based whale & dolphin encounters. All tours are guided by expert crew. Ocean Blue is a licensed SABBWWA permit holder, which enables them to approach whales from 50 metres instead of 300 metres. Should the whales approach your vessel you do not have to move away. The guests therefore get an up close experience with these majestic mammals in the bay. Choose from:

After breakfast, be transferred to George Airport for your onward journey home. This marks the end to your exciting holiday to South Africa.
Requires a spirit of adventure and some degree of fitness, as the trip might consist of many activities or long journeys. These adventures involve walking, trekking, hiking, cycling, rafting, sea kayaking, or driving for long hours, at times for up to six to eight hours a day at a steady pace.
