Kyanjin to Ghora Tabela
After breakfast we start out on a four and a half hour trek towards Ghora Tabela. We climb out of the village to a moraine ridge and descend across a bridge to a wide valley, Yangbu. The trail continues along the Langtang River to an expanse of grassy open land. After this, the trail passes through Singdum and moves on higher above the river.
The river is flanked with a forested slope that leads to open pastoral land covered by shrubs and bush. Tall, soaring mountains border the area and one can see yaks and horses as well as many different varieties of birds.
The descending trail continues to a long series of mani walls, which marks the entry to a village in Langtang. These are walls that are made from beautiful, carved stone tablets which carry the inscription “Om Mani Padme Hum” (“Hail to the jewel in the lotus”). According to Buddhist belief these walls should be passed from the left, following the clockwise direction of the earth’s as well as the universe’s revolution.
Crossing a suspension bridge, that lies a short distance away from the village, the trail continues towards a short wooded stretch of downhill. On this route we head past Langtang Monastery and reach the Hamlet of Chamki. From here we travel further downhill to Thangshyap. A rapid 130 meter drop follows, after which we trek along a levelled stretch, through a beautiful forest of oak and rhododendrons. Next we travel past an army check-post and reach a meadow, Ghora Tabela, at 2970 meters.

Ghora Tabela to Thulo Syabru
A long day of trekking awaits us today. We hike for nearly seven hours to reach Thulo Syabru, (2130 meters). Crossing jungle area and a river valley we descend to reach the fork between Landslide and Doman. On this route we cross the Lama Hotel and Bamboo villages. From the fork the trail moves left, towards the Sherpa village of Thulo Syabru, inclining sharply through thick forests full of exotic birds.
We now trek for almost 300 meters uphill. We pause our strenuous climb at a little clearing called Kapal Danda. This stunning location has a view extending from Ganesh Himal to the terraced fields of Thulo Syabru.
The trail now drops to a stream. From here the trail gradually ascends once again. After a short descent the trail leads us to another steep climb up a flight of stone steps, winding through extensive terraced fields. The trail brings you to the top of a ridge, along which lies the settlement of Thulo Syabru.

Thulo Syabru to Chandanbari
Today, we start our three hour hike after a leisurely breakfast. We travel past a monastery and local school and head out left, along the trail. After a short distance, we continue on the trail leading to the right. We now make a sharp ascent to reach another fork, from where you can travel in either direction.
To the right, the trail leads you to a difficult climb uphill. On climbing 360 meters from Thulo Syabru we reach Durgasang (2720 meters). On reaching the peak of Durgasang, we are greeted by magnificent, dramatic view. The trail continues in a similar manner through thick forests of pine and oak. Following a winding pathway through the steep wooded slope, we reach a flat grassy ridge called Foprang Danda (3190 meters).
To the left, we see fabulous landscape as you travel along a levelled stretch of trail winding through spectacular forests of tall firs and cedar. This route leads you to another ridge. The last stretch of the day’s trek leads you to Sing Gompa, at 3230 meters, which is a descending trail downhill.

Chandanbari to Laurebina Yak
We start our three hour trek today by heading eastward. The trail initially inclines sharply to give way to an easier, gentle climb up to the ridge line. You may feast your eyes on fantastic views along the ridge! The slope on this side is abundant with firs. This region is famous for its inhabitants, the red panda. They are extremely shy and you have to be very patient if you want to spot them.
The trail curves down the slope and emerges onto a saddle at Chalangpati, at a height of 3380 meters. The landscape turns alpine as we continue trekking along the trail. The lush forests give way to clumps of Juniper and Rhododendron. The final stretch of our trail, goes on for 2 kilometers and brings us to Laurebina Yak. A marvelous treat awaits you here! This spot exhibits a panorama, from the magnificence of Annapurnas, Manaslu, Ganesh Himbal, Langtang Lirung, stretching right up to the distant mountains of Tibet.
